Peaceful and beautiful views
We expected the hotel to be on the beach, however the nearest sand beach is a 20 minute walk away.
This is an exceptional Hotel; lovely setting, well developed and maintained, fantastic staff, superb food and great service. That we could not stay longer.
The views over the sea from the terrace resturant were lovely , breakfasts excellent, pool area good, staff friendly and helpful. there was no coffee/ tea making facility in the room. could only eat in the terrace resturant in the evening if you ate al a carte.
Localisation, nice atmosphere in the hotel, service, cuisine !
friendliness and courtesy of staff - nothing seemed to be a bother. quality of the food on the snack menu - put more detailed comments on hotel questionaire
Lovely hotel with friendly unpretentious atmosphere - great breakasts and fab locatio
The landscape around, the food and the staff. The fact that I could not use my computer at my room (no Wi-Fi in the room)
Awesome staff, especially host in restaurant. Made our visit especially enjoyable. Seaside room was great! no
Hotel's restaurant I found the price per night too high compared to the hotel category: for the same price it's possible to stay in the heart of Madrid in a 5 star L hotel (I did)
Breathtaking scenery This hotel would be very difficult to find without a gps.
beautiful position...clifftop...a bit seventies but a good hotel with beautiful views breakfast
We had a very well maintained comfortable room with a beautiful view. The hotel is located in a fantastic natural setting, somewhat isolated and therefore quiet. We very much liked the room, the restaurant and cafe, the pool and the beautiful location. We thought the restaurant food was priced high and there are no alternatives at this location. We appreciated that the hotel also runs a cafe for smaller meals at more convenient times, for those not used to Spanish meal times, especially dinner. For breakfast there is only the expensive, but excellent, restaurant with a large buffet breakfast. There are no good alternative easy to reach restaurants nearby.
it was veery relaxing , staff were very helpfull , food was enjoyable , great location , went home happy to have stayed there. I would have liked a different menu with a colder than i would normaly prefer a slighty wider choice to choose from , the staff were very friendly & the restaurant was well run but i would prefer the food was a touch hotter.
The setting of the hotel is superb, and the bedrooms and bathrooms excellent. Apart from breakfast which was good, dinner was very poor. It was basic institutional cooking and must be improved.
The views Rooms are spacious, however the decoration is very outdated
Splendid view, isolated and very quiet location. Nice buffet breakfast with special attention for food allergies; small pool but very well kept; nice walking path to the beach. Airco in the fitness room did not work; hasty service in the restaurant at dinner time (no room for an intimate dinner)
Beautiful Tranquil setting with amazing coastal and sea views.
great location, great views very boring. Nothing to do at nights. Perfect for people over 60
The view from our balcony was magnificent. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The food was rather mass-produced and was not good value for money.
The location is really scenic and special, with a short walk down to a lovely beach. Service and staff were very pleasant and helpful. All in all very relaxing and restful. Pool great for kids. Gym facilities are in need of some investment and attention.
outstanding setting, grounds, patio and food, as well as location to town and beach. need few more amenities in room, such as Kleenex, shower mat and bathrobe.
Beautiful building, restaurant terrace and gardens. Good bar and restaurant service. Small, dark room that looked out onto a rock face two feet away and was directly above the reception and phone. Inexperienced receptionists. Electric bicycles, as promised on their website, didn't exist.
beautiful grounds, easy walk to sea
Food. Pool. Staff and Service. Room was small for 4 people
Relaxing & quite Did not dinne in the restaurant as there was no one else there.
Beautiful setting, lovely gardens, large bedroom, a very pleasant hotel for a quiet relaxing break
We thought the staff we absolutely terrific and super friendly and accomodating. The location was terrific and the pool and patio was gorgeous. Breakfast was a real treat on the patio. Its an stunning building overlooking the hills. The bed needs to be upgraded. Its quite uncomfortable. Also the bathroom needs upgrading. The sink is very small and the shower is super slippery. You have to hold on while you wash to make sure you don't slip.
Stylish hotel. Wonderfull garden and pool.
very clean and pleasant people we were put next to dining area and were kept awake into the early hours
Lovely, beautifully and simply designed, with stone arches in the entry and common areas, lot of modern furniture and white linens. Friendly staff. Very nice breakfast included. Perfect location in the town of Begur.
The personal service.
Staff very friendly & helpful. Hotel very well located 2 mins walk to town centre. Rooms small bur very clean, bright, comfortable & quiet
Breakfast was excellent and decor in bathrooms and generally very good Parking was a bit of a problem
This was a small hotel - very comfortable. It is in the town center and the streets are very narrow. Parking could be a problem if the hotel lot is already full. We had difficulty finding the hotel. Nice resturant in the hotel and great location for browsing shops. The beach is not close. Better driving directions to the actual hotel. We had the map from the web site but the streets were not clearly marked and many were one way. Some streets you could not drive on.
bliss begur is a lovely hotel. it is located in the middle of a small, sweet town, from which one can easily reach several beaches with a car. the manager of the hotel is very attentive and personable. he gave us useful information about about restaurants and sites to visit. the decor and furniture is modern and well designed. a nice contrast to the old building. we had a great time there.
The staff were kind. If I have to pay extra to have a double room I expect to have a double room. The beds were appauling and had crumbs in from previous customers. The bathrooms were far from acceptable. All in all very very disappointing.
the location was good, the staff was friendly very old furniture and the carpet was ancient, it was like the hotel was stuck in 1969... I was missing what I think are basic things in the room, like a kettle and a couple of cups. There was no "pampering" feel to the hotel at all. The rooms all had twin beds even though we booked a double room - I didn't like that at all...
lovely centre for this superb part of the costa bravo
It was unique and personal. Great location.
It is a lovely small hotel with a true European feel. The rooms have been put together nicely with lovely use of rock and stone with accent lighting. The bathroom is nice with a large walk in shower. The room is modest (not too fancy) but beautiful with nice furniture but the bed could have been a little softer for my liking. There was a large deck off our room with which has great views of valley. The Restaurant had excellent food and good service. The location is good as it is located just outside of the town 5 - 7 minute walk or 1 minute drive. There are great little stores for fruit and bakery items in town and a grocery at the top of the hill. Excellent spot to visit all the beaches of Begur. Owner and staff very helpful & accomodating The bed could have been more comfy.
Proximity to the sea (Costa Brava), Girona and Figueres. Breakfast only included sweet things and no local specialities.
Accommodation was basic but clean and comfortable, and the terrace was a great spot for soaking up late afternoon sun. The owner was very friendly and helpful - would gladly go back to stay again.
Very welcoming and friendly Manager and staff. Relaxed atmospere and comfortable lounge areas. The bedroom was immaculate and towels and sheets changed daily. I wish the Hotel good luck with its new bedrooms, they look superb. We will certainly return and will recommend the hotel to friends and family. No
Very friendly, comfortable and full of character. A lovely place to relax There was nothing that I really didn't like. One tiny point - a bit more light in the bedroom would have been helpful!
Excellent Owner/Manager Miguell, very friendly and good advice re local attractions. Room very good, lounges also. Restaurant a little expensive compared with other local rests. Facilities not available on Monday eg bar, restaurant etc. Could do with a plunge or swim pool.
The hotel is a beautiful 200 year house, the superior room with terrace and the bathroom were amazing. Great breakfast and restaurant! Perfect location in charming Begur, close to the most beautiful beaches of the Costa Brava. Should have 4 stars instead of 3.
clean, interesting needed more light in the room; not handicap accessible
We have stayed at the Rosa previously, and love it! Location in the town centre, the quality of the rooms and of breakfast, and the wonderful staff were all unchanged from our previous visit, thank goodness! We think the Rosa gets it right in just about everything, including price. No negatives to report whatsoever.
Breakfast excellent variety of both freshly cooked hot spanish + english dishes with very interesting breakfast tapas / pastries Bathroom a little on the small side but to compensate there was a jacuzzi bath.
nice place and hotel, nice people at reception, good and well balanced breakfast no
Room clean and reasonably furnished. Staff very helpful. Restaurant excellent both for evening meal and breakfast. Atmospheric location in centre of old town - pretty to wander around.
Very pleasant staff. Nowhere to sit and very dark bedrooms.
The central position gave every opportunity to walk around the narrow streets in safety. The staff were friendly and helpful and the choice of breakfast was excellent. As we were staying there off main season, it was quiet and calm in the Hotel for much of the time.It was interesting to see ordinary life from the rooftop terrace and to watch the sun setting. The signed access was very narrow and after we had unloaded our bags, the police had to be summoned to unlock the barrier to allow us to drive out and park-rather stressful on arrival. On departure we opted to carry our bags, making three trips to the car park.As mu husband has heart problems, a note concerning the limitation of access for older or handicapped people, might be considered.Alternatively, the service of a porter with a trolley would have helped. The charming church bells striking at every quarter, began to lose their charm during the hours of rest ! After the arrival of a group of gentlemen, we found the walls of the room to be very thin and could hear every ward spoken, especially as they were calling to each other in adjoining rooms.
The hotel was clear, with very good facilities for the price and the staff very friendly and helpful. The resteraunt just over the road, owned by the hotel was remarkable value for money. No
We booked a junior suite and the room was excellent. The staff we very friendly and helpful and the restaurant (Fonda Caner) the best we found in begur.
We were left alone to make our choices about where to dine etc-- staff did not try to pressure sell anything Sounds from adjacent rooms were quite clear.
Specialising in up-market walking tour groups, this is a fabulous base for exploring the Emporda region and very good value. The staff could not be more helpful with itinerary details and very valuable advice on footpaths to avoid because of storm damage. I was very comfortable here as an independent solo traveller. The massage baths are a real treat at the end of the day and the roof terrace is a lovely haven. Best of all is the outstanding gourmet restaurant, which also provides the breakfast buffet of exceptional quality. There is also a good selection of restaurants in the village with high standards of cuisine and presentation. I have already recommended Hotel Rosa to several friends who can't wait to go!
This was an excellet hotel for those who wish to be away from the crowds but close enough to all touring places. The spa was available for our use for a small fee per day and we had the entire pavilion to ourselves including a massage . The restaurant attached had some of the best food we had durring our week along the Costa Brava. We enjoyed a quiet honeymoon stay here and everything was great! Make sure to request a specific room well ahead of time if this is important to you.
Excellent views and attractive garden. Relaxed atmosphere with pleasant and helpful staff. Rooms in old part of building adequate for short break.
Very quite, clean, good location
very pleasant atmosphere
Perfect place with charming atmosphere in quiet place. Exellent staff, very helpful Nothing with the hotel as such. Not easy to get this place without precise map or knowing the region
The peace, location, excellent food, nice room The staff were efficient but not particularly friendly, generally I would say the hotel was impersonal. More smiles and greetings would have been nice. Was very glad we were not staying in the grey blocks in the garden, these are very ugly and detract from the overall ambiance.
Wonderful staff and great food. Lovely views
The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and attentive to our needs. They charge for the use of the spa facility which when paying EUR180 a night should be included.
very nice and very cosy ,the restaurant is very good, people are very helpful and friendly
The staff was very kind. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The Hotel itself was very clean and minimal, the way I like it
Very friendly English speaking owners with suggestions and assistance with activities in the Costa Brava area. Breakfast and room were fabulous.
A wonderful experience. We were upgraded to a suite which was fabulous but the general experience was one of warmth, personalised attention and unique but understated luxury. Brilliantly located for exploring the town, beaches and medieval villages nearby. Would love to return .
friendly service, lovely old heritage buildng, nice room with terrace, child friendly, good breakfast bathroom was a bit cramped
The people and their refreshing approach to the hospitality industry make this a must see hotel. This place is made by the personalities who run it. If you are looking for a slick hotel then look elsewhere. If you are looking for a beautiful, charming, interesting, welcoming relaxed experience then book now. nothing to report here.
Location. Kindness of owners
Aiguaclara is a stylish bohemaian type of hotel. You feel as if you are staying with friends. It is both stylish and relaxed.Food-excellent. Owners extremey friendly and helpful. I would recommend to anyone.
open access to the hotel, eg. bar, lounges and the restaurant!
First of all, we very much liked the village of Begur and the location of the hotel is very central to explore the place. Also, the view from the room was very nice. Therefore: location. May be our room was not the best of the hotel. Old bathroom and too many old objects lying around in an excessive effort to show propension for 'modernariato' which can become rather 'kitch'. I expected more after having read other guests comments. Rather standard breakfast.
First, the welcome. If Erica was welcoming, Clara greeted us like old friends! (This was our debut.) Nothing forced abou it - that's the way she is. You don't get a bise at Melia/Pullman/Marriott! We enjoyed a super dinner, served by Erica; borrowed a book or two to read; read the British & French newspapers; took a DVD from the extensive collection and watched it in our bedroom. Breakfast was thoroughly relaxed - great homemade jams. The bedroom ("Sa Tuna") was, of course, old-style, charming, with a good bed; we thought the bells of the church opposite might keep us awake, but they didn't. Smallish bathroom with efficient large-headed shower (no bath). Check-out handled effortlessly. Secure parking across the road (€7.) Nothing.
Aiguaclara turned out to be excellent choice, both the hotel and the city is fascinating. The whole hotel looks gorgeous and the owners are very friendly. Recommended for everyone looking something less touristy.
