excellent quality and low price Very slow for checking out
Better than many 4 stars hotels.
Very comfortable bed, great shower, wonderful breakfast The receptionist at the frontdesk was on the phone for much too long both at check in & check out.
We liked all the small efforts they had made in order to make everyone welcome such as keeping fruit baskets for those who stayed there and free internet facilities. Would have liked to have had some hot food for breakfast.
Fine service from caring hotel staff and english speaking.
(1) very convenient location (2) room is spacious (3) a selection of fruit available at the reception (4) staff are helpful and responsive nil.
Its proximity to the town. The good breakfasts. Comfortable beds. On a busy road junction and therefore noise from traffic unavoidable.
It was in a good location. We had a corner room overlooking the city gate, so the view was pretty, but a bit noisy. The hotel was comfortable and the staff very welcoming. The only thing that needs upgrading are the towels. They were very thin and scratchy. Theven old town area was very charming, especially since we were there during the holidays. I would stay at this hotel again if in the area.
Everything was first class with superb customer service. shower curtain faulty
staff were very helpful and very polite
Good value for money, just in downtown.
I was extremely pleased with the hotel and its location in Basel. Would definitely recommend it to friends.
... everything was ok
Wonderful location within walking distance of the river for people taking river boat cruises. We were in the new wing so there were many stairs to climb.
Friendly staff, clean and well appointed hotel, ideally situated for my business meetings at Baselworld
The welcome from the staff on arrival was fantastic and they were very helpful in explaining how to get around the city, also they helped with organising supprises for my sister from her Fiancé. They even went out and hand picked her chocolates and placed them in her room. There was nothing bad about the hotel, which makes a change! It would have been nice to have tea & coffee facilities in the rooms but this did not spoil our trip at all.
Hotel is located very close to the center
We stayed there over the week-end of the football playoffs and there were 120,000 Dutch fans in Basel!!! The hotel was quiet and clean and located conveniently to everything we wanted to do in Basel. They gave us a pass for public transportaion and a good breakfast each day. It was the perfect place to enjoy the old city and the new. The hotel goes back over 150 years and as they added neighboring buildings they connected them with twisting halls and stairways that made it difficult for large pieces of luggage. But it was interesting to figure out the history of the buildings.
The Hotel was clean, the staff were nice and helpfull. The Hotel is very central, overall quite good.
The room was clean and tidy and the overall quality high. The breakfast was fine.
A normal hotel with very good location, good stuff-gentle and helpful.near to the tram and bus stop.very convenient for a nice weekend in basel. No breakfast included in the price.old fashion design.the room wasn't enough spacious.
The view of the dining-room and the lobby. The staff. I bought un spacious double bedroom and they wanted to impose a "garret"- room.
magnificant atmosphere! Great service axcept a little more effort in cleaning could make this hotel one of the best I ever been in
Inside the hotel one feels the unbelievable atmosphere of great history of it and past centuries. The manager at the reception was extremely polite By understandable reasons there is no swimming pool to a pity
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Great location with a great view on the city and the Rhine river; friendly and mindful staff. The gourmet restaurant "Cheval blanc" deserves a special mention.
Absolutely 1st class hotel. You really feel like you're back in the 1900's. Stunning renovation of classic architecture.
Location Hotel Staff !
Liked the ambiance and the staff was outstanding There was nothing not to like at this hotel
Lighting The service at the bar
The attitude of all members of the hotel staff with have come to contact with was excellent - this is the real forte of Les Trois Rois. The dry cleaning quality is extremely poor (I requested two ties to be dry-cleaned - and they were returned to me completely destroyed).
Smart hotel, great prices and location. not brilliantly designed... form over function - room lighting and breakfast bar both need rethinking.
There is no bar, no restaurant and no coffee machine in the room. So if you come back to your room and want a coffee or a sandwich. Forget it. This place is a glorified B&B and I would avoid you to go elsewhere.
Excellent location. Walking distance to Maktplatz, Spalentor, Barfuesserplatz etc. The only issue would be lack of tea & coffee making facilities in the room; also it was not possible to order tea/coffee although the staff did lend us a kettle!!
Location, comfortable beds, shower Size of the room, lack of storage space, inadequate breakfast for the price, understaffed in food area, nowhere to hang towels in bathroom, poor lighting.
Excellent hotel - central location - cordial staff - nice decor
The location is best. the stuff is efficient, car parking services were excellent.
The service and friendly staff , the location but we will not stay for a Sunday again , as everthing was closed. The access by car was almost impossible.
The comfort of room and its cleanines and sheer simplicity. Hotel receptionist not very ettiquetted and welcoming. No help for carrying luggage etc. I have stayed in Ibis Singapore, it was much better than Zurich Ibis in terms of services.
As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by efficiency, friendliness and helpfulness. The single room had a three quarters size single bed. Everything was clean and worked well, i.e. bathroom had a large size shower which was very efficient. Complimentary water and high quality mini choc box. I had to pay extra for breakfast, but it was well worth it as there was a great choice, and everything was so fresh and of a high standard. I can't believe I'm saying this, but no!
well situated, convenient, clean, comfortable
Could not have been more well located near the city center. The reception staff was so friendly and helpful. The rate was over the top expensive for the small room.
Everything was fine. The staff was kind and the location ok.
Location was ideal for my business trip
The location of the hotel is perfectly located in the city centre from Basel. The building is nice and has charm being in the Rhein riverside. The furniture and the toilet are old, and it would need a room redecoration and restore.
The hotel is very noisy. Traffic on the bridge. As there is no air-conditioning you have to leavae the window open..We did not sleep very well.
The hotel was in a great location and very well priced with well equipped rooms. The staff was fantastic in every way. A beautiufl breakfast was also served. not a thing.
The view from my hotel room.
breakfast was great, furnishings nice, orderly, liked the shoeshine and the free mobility card, internet easy to use My sister (a fellow guest) asked front desk to lock up luggage on checkout day--on return several hours later it was still sitting in the then-unsupervised lobby
We enjoyed the central position close to the old town and other shopping areas. We had nothing we didn't like.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location for exploring old town Basel and shopping. You look out on the Rhine River and a short walk across bridge or free trolley ride puts you in the heart a great stay. Buffet breakfast was awesome No shortcomings. Didn't find any faults
I stated at the reception also, the TV are very small.Turkish Star TV is not representing Turkish tv channels, I recommended one of the four news channels from the satilite..Star tv is disgusting and embrassing in view of a Turk..We booked for one night but came one day early and although the hotel was full due to a fair in town, they tried their best to give us the room we liked on the river side..Efficient service of the hotel. One complain, the restaurant's prices are extremely high when a traveller wants to have a modest dinner, we could effort the first night but next night we prefered somewhere reasonable..
Food was excellent, great location, easy access to main area's They could not stop the rain!!!
restaurant, food and service hairdryer
Friendly and attentive staff, great location, excellent breakfast Noise from the restaurant carried to my room
We liked the out look from the Riverside room which was very comfortable and a very good size. Free access to the Internet was a bonus. Our only concern was the smell of smoke from the smoking room did invade the general hotel environs.
The staff was very friendly and helpful; the breakfast was very good, and the wait staff was prompt and courteous; housekeeping was excellent; the water, tea service, and fruit on each floor was a nice extra. The room was very small (I had a single); the street is noisy, more so at night with the music and the people in the cafe/bar across from the hotel.
The Hotel staff were courteous and helpful during my short stay. In addition the location was very quiet for a central location. None
The view of the Rhine and old town is lovely from the upper front rooms.Nice oldy worldy feel to the place yet very modern features too.The food here is also excellent, bit pricey though...bestfor a special occassion.
not much parking; they told me to park in a garage but didn't tell me that it doesn't open up early am so I couild get to the airport. It was also dark in the am and I had to walk there alone and walk up the driving portion of the garage (hauling my luggage) since the doors were not open. The room was small and not a good value for the money. I was on the 3rd or 4th floor and there were doors slightly ajar to some dark room that had what in it I don't know. There were also dark spots that looked like smoke above one of the lights that was concerning. The food options for dinner were not good.
River view was the most charming part of our stay. The food was excellent two. Staff was very delibrate and helpful.
Hotel is perfectly situated for city walks, nice view from restaurant.
The floors creaked so badly that it was not only disturbing to me but probably a nightmare for those who stayed below me.
The hotel was not a typical chain hotel - it had individual character and warmth and provided a relaxing atmosphere very close to the centre of Basel.
Hotel very well located in central Basel. Restaurant pleasant and food OK Restaurant slightly overpriced for what it is
the room was extremely simply furnished, extremely hot and facing the court where customers of the restaurant could be heard ! until after 1am and the staff started to prepare the tables for breakfast at 5 am. A lot of money for no sleep at all
Very helpful and courteous staff, good location
Rooms were spacious for European standards and very nice bathroom. Comfortable beds. I guess beinging an American and addicted to tv. I missed it. We did not spend that much timein the room so it turned out ok. Funny how you become additiced to something minor.
Very simplistic. Cheap furniture
Well designed. Original.
the location of the hotel the bed - too small - and we had to order the tv
The ambience and closeness to the hisoric area, river and city. The 92 stairs to the top but without them, you miss so much.
It's central location, spacey room and friendliness of the staff (also towards our youngest member).
Location was good Lack of space and amenities
good location (city centre) it's located together with cabaret (striptease bar). difficult to find receptionist. poor breakfast. pretty shabby- needs renovation.
The breakfast was excellent. Proximity to the centre and the Rhine
Good location, very scenic, situated on a lovely `typical swiss' street. Right next to a tram stop and the free transport passes from the hotel are very usefull, we prefered walking through the City but we used the tram when necessary.
The breakfast was really good, rooms were clean and there is a nice tower near it as well as an excellent local pub Because of some impairment in ventilation and heating system, it was impossible to breath in mornings. And the smoke from another room was noticeable in ours.
A 2 minute walk to down town was excellent. The room we had was right next to the tram line, which started at 5:00 a.m. We thought the tram was coming through our room it was so loud! If we had had another room, it might have been OK.
Staff was very helpful about a special request made when booking. Location good when using public transportation. We had a large room, not on the side where the tram runs, so it was quiet. The Cabaret at the Hotel was a surprise! Good thing my husband was with me. Not recommended for families, business.
location and free bus pass
Surprisingly comfortable bed with several pillows, excellent breakfast buffet, and part of the room (from the bedroom door area to the hallyway outside) was apparently made sound-proof by virtue of some sort of heavily textured wallpaper. Not the central location I was expecting, so a hefty taxi fare to and from the train station. Some windows had black curtains, others had only flimsy see-throughs. Location right on the tram line made the front-facing room quite noisy until the tram closed down for the night. My single room rate was fair but the several couples with whom I traveled definitely didn't receive value for money.
Central to the old city Reception unattended, hotel was a bit run down not a great experience.
