Very good welcome, real feeling to be a customer. The staff did all their best so that we had an enjoyable stay Room air conditioning little bit noisy
Breakfast is very nice and the staff are helpful The room is old. The nearest Metro station Victoria station is closed during my stay!!! Can't beleive it!!
The hotel is under reconstruction in some area and there is noise, also the rooms had a bad smell and it was necessary to keep the window open. The location is good, we had a nice view but I don't think that the 5 stars of the hotel are corect ( maybe 4 stars is right).
Breakfast and the 8th floor restaurtant which has an amazing view of Athens, Nothing. Basically the holel has low quality of mattress and pillows. They do not provide complimentary beverages of any kind. The location is on a busy street and is surrounded by narrow streets and apartments. The hallways are dark and lights are too dim to see the door number or the side of key to put into the electronic lock. I am not sure it is a 4-star hotel.
Tout en général Internet payant
A nice looking hotel with a fantastic view of the surroundings from the top roof! Wonderful breakfast and nice staff at the breakfast and in the lobby. Not very alert personnel at the top roof restaurant, lots of mistakes, the food was ok but costed more than it was worth! The beds were far to hard for all of us and that is the reason why we would not choose this hotel again even if our room was very good. The poolhours could be more generous.
The position was good, friendly / helpful staff / good breakfast
Pool very nice Nothing
very helpfull and friendly staff. clean hotel. nice location. away from downtown rush. none
Nothing-This is not a five star hotel (a five star hotel has workable equipment, supplies dressing gowns and slippers and usually the beds are of a reasonable size-we had the opportunity to stay in a 3 star and it seemed like heaven compared to this hotel. Paying extra for a hotel with a swimming pool is simply a waste as it was closed and does not open until after Easter. The AC was not working, the decor was poor, the toilet seat stained, towels worn out and dirty, bed not a double and couldn't even fit the child on the single bed supplied and due to the AC not working the windows had to be opened resulting in it being very noisey and got bitten badly by mosiquitos-the hotel could not even supply an electrical or any mosiquito remedy.
The location is far from the city center. The hotel has only one restaurant including a pool bar which was booked for a private function for 2 nights. This limited us to dine in the indoor restaurant. The female waiter was too rude and didn't want us to sit in the dining area but only next to the bar.
Good position of the hotel, the room number 711 (superior) is better and with good panorama (Partenone and hill). Good service and quality for Greece and not expensive. Five stars as four in Italy, France or Germany, but really very good for a nice weekend. Thumbs up!!!
The location is great, only 3-4 minutes walk from Omonoia square. The view from the room was amazing, Acropolis and Lycabettus Hill. The bed was very comfortable, and free wireless internet!!! Small thing that isn't worth to mention. The value for money is very hard to beat.
Very good hotel facilities, nice roof garden!! Value of money as a four star hotel.
The breakfast and the staff were excellent. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The walls were thin and you could hear your neighbors. The bathroom was very poorly set up. There was no door to the shower so water got all over the floor. If someone was using the toilet and another person opened the door, it would open onto their knees. The toilet paper holder was located in an awkward position behind the toilet...hard to reach. The hotel is located in a rather rough neighborhood.
close to Metro subway. close to Metro, but bad environment. Too laud to sleep. Window sound insulation is terrible.
service value no wi-fi access
Not sure this hotel is worthy of a 4 star categorisation. Room was very small and the shower inoperable
Personal muy amigable, eficiente y servicial.
The view from the rooms is amazing. The service was really good. We consider the hotels' roof garden with it's great view relaxing atmosphere a great place for food and cocktails. It's close to the center of Athens and we had easy access to the metro(Omonia Station). We highly recommend the Bistro next to the lobby for coffee and evening drink. If you visit Athens and you are looking for a pleasant stay,go to Polis Grand Hotel!!!
Breakfast was great Room size good Friendly staff Good wifi
Polite Reception Stuff. Price! Definetely worn out and shabby, not 4*! Breakfast was of poor choice, and there was too much noice in my room!
Good Hotel, was nice to stay there! Close to the market and metro as well to the city centre.
receptionist restaurant service
The hotel is close to the main attractions and easy to find. The area around the hotel isn't that nice, but the hotel is just ten minutes away from omonia square with a variety of transportation possibilities. The breakfast was very easy.
Convienant to the area I was traveling... The person that worked the late night shift was the rudest person I have ever encountered during my travels. He cared more about watching tv and smoking his cigerettes than in helping me or any of my 17 passengers. Terrible!!
Nice clean rooms, great breakfast included. Walking distance to the Metro. Best to take a taxi to the hotel first time, but to get to the Metro, walk out the front door, take the small street that empties almost directly into the front door (Stournari), walk 3 blocks or so to 3 September street, turn right and walk 6 short blocks to Omonoia Square. This also avoids the worst sections around the hotel... 10 minutes to the Acropolis by Metro from there. The location is very sketchy. Omonoia is a seedy place at night, full of hookers and druggies. The women did not feel good walking at night. I got pickpocketed (my backpack actually) walking back after dark one day...
the hotel is close to all the historical sites and to the metro station. the hotel room was very small. it was difficult to fit in the double bed. the neighborhood is not safe, you should be really careful at night. the wifi internet connection did not work on our first day at the hotel. we had to ask the staff to change our room because it overlooked a wall and it was pitch black inside the room even during the day.
good location all days was the same breakfast, there was no variety
Price. Own bath/shower. Minibar and closet included in room. The gangs, prostitutes, and neighborhood.
A very fair price for a budget hotel very small bathroom
Helpful staffs and good position for tourists.
Location Elevator. No lock for luggage storage. Staff on differing shifts not communicating. Found out by accident that taxi was coming early due to strike. Desk clerk DID knock on our door because phone not working for wake up. Very small bathroom. Good breakfast. Bed substandard.
price is very reasonable staff can smile more
It is centrally located in the centre of Athens about 150m walk from Amonia Metro Station. This station also provides easy access to the airport by Metro. Staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms clean. This hotel offers good value for money for the relatively inexpensive nightly rates. I would stay here again if in Athens.
Staff is so friendly although they will agree taxi charge upfront with the driver so watch out. And if you are up for being in he centre of red district-go for it!! ;-) Poor breakfast although warm and crusty pastry is making up for it.
near metro, good location breakfast
The location is good as it is very near Omonia metro station (about 5-10 min walk). However, the staff was rude and not very helpful (esp the hotel manager). The hotel is not service oriented at all and would not go out of their way to assist or pacify unsatisfied customers.
nice location, easy access by metro and walking, but a bit dangerous surounding area. not stabile hot water supply, during bath, it can turn to too hot or cold.
very comfortable beds
Very near to city center and metro. Nice and good environment as opposed to other hotels in the same area. Guidance on how to visit the city , what to roam around etc. No proactive guidance.
The staff were friendly and the location and bar prices were excellent. The fact that they doubled the price of the stay because of the UEFA Champions League Final being hosted in the city.
very close to the omini station on the metroline and only one change from the airport + direct route to the olympic stadium
We found the manager and the staff exceptionally helpful. On our arrival the manager came from his office to welcome us with glasses of orange juice and thereupon gave us advice on how to use the metro, how to go to the Acropolis Museum, and how to find some good eating spots. He advised us to go to Rozalie's restaurant. Which we did and found very good value, and pleasant. The area, for which we cannot blame the hotel.
Staff at the reception very helpful. Quite close to Omonia square. clean. Good rates. on our first day we arrived for breakfast at 9.40am as we had arrived late the night before. we found that almost every thing was finished and was not replaced.
Staff at reception very freindly and helpful Breakfast could bee until 11.00 and with availability of alos products notzbly orange juice until the end
The helpfulness of the staff, we had a free upgrade to a suite, this was a real bonus. The proximity to the 400 city tour bus start point and the Archiological Museum. The most comfortable beds of our trip.
helpful reception staff; area did not feel shady. breakfast not great quality but nevertheless adequate
staff were extremely helpful and nice.
The hotel was clean and the room comfortable. I was there for less than 12 hours and for half of these I was asleep The bar facilities were limited and the English speaking news channel was not tuned in properly
The personnel was willing to help. The building is very well restored. The breakfast could be better
The breakfast was great as well as the cleanliness of the room. It was close to transport as well. The street that you must walk through to transport did make me feel uneasy as I was by myself and there were a lot of students from the uni as well as many homeless. If with someone else, I would not have been bothered.
The front-desk staff really deserve a compliment, they do an excellent job! Rooms are great, they are sound-proof, come with a nice bathroom and the pillows are also good.
The hotel was extremely new, as I heard that it had been opened just one month ago, the location is good and safe, staff is friendly, I highly recommend this hotel for persons who want to stay in safe, good, economical place.. The hotel was new and somethings were still non-exist (minibar, curtain at bath ,etc.)
The hotel is modern, with new furniture and nice interior design. Rooms has no mistake, also the location is perfect, walking distance to city center and all interesting places. Hotel staff is very nice, friendly, helpful and joyful. The only minus for the hotel is the location near the main road so for people who like to sleep with window open can be a bit noisy during the night.
a very good budget hotel
The hotel staff is so professional and polite that staying in hotel becomes a great pleasure. I didn't like the smell of sigarettes in the room
Hotel staff was very friendly, rooms are vert nice and new and good location, close to Victoria metro
The best part of the room was a terrace, so do not hesitate to book a slightly more expensive room and ask for 6th floor - the view of the Lycabettus Hill is fantastic. The staff is very friendly. It is great choice if the main reason for your stay is National Archeological Museum, which is basically around the corner. It is a good value for money, but next time I will stay in the Syntagma Square area. The location is not the best, you will have to get a cab or public transport to get to main attractions (3-4 bus stops). Bus ticket is 1 euro, cab may be very expensive, because taxi drivers seriously overcharging tourists and their taximeters not at the right speed. Victoria metro station (which is supposed to be nearest) is closed and works seem to continue forever, so from the airport you will get to Monastiraki station, please do not take taxi, walk from there, its just 20 minutes. Breakfast which is included is quite poor, to be honest. Eggs, ham, cheese and pastry are not the best quality and doneness, but we discovered after several days Greek Yoghurt, it was very good to mix with fresh fruits and commercially prepared granola.
Good location, sparkling cleanliness, elegant, though minimalist, furniture 20-Second noisy vibration after flushing toilet (did not hear it from neighbouring rooms), absence of safe, nothing to grip in shower, no easy chair, only a stool. At the price, these are not serious failings.
Hotel is new, furniture is sparkling new. Bathrooms very comfortable. Very nice staff. Very good quality for money. View from some of the rooms is a disaster! Also, because hotel is completely new, small details still need to be fixed. For instance a hook for the shower head is needed. In my room some essential pieces of furniture were missing (no chair, no desk)
Friendly staff, excellent maintenance and housekeeping; very good location near metro station, frequent buses. Noise from street, especially at night.
Level of the employees Wi-Fi only in the Lobby (always crowded with more than 10 people trying to use internet). This is not acceptable in the level of the hotel.
Central location Bedroom and fittings need a good spring cleaning
The room and bathroom were beautiful. Comfortable pillows. Great pool and jacuzzi with stunning view. Sundeck equipped with comfortable loungers. Less than 5 minute walk to Omonia metro and 20 minute stroll to Acropolis. Great breakfast (better selection than most London hotels). Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. Pool shuts at 6pm which is far too early. Surrounding area is not the prettiest.
the relaxed and friendly atmosphere created by the staff
The staff was very courteous and helpful and the rooms were very nice! The pool closed at 6:00PM which was too early if you wanted to enjoy it after a day of seeing the city.
I liked the comfort! The dangerous location
Received room upgrade (thank you) and was very pleased with location .... only a couple of blocks from underground and thus good access to sights and airport. Breakfast good - staff helpful !! Athens itself is dirty and polluted - transport strike by underworked and overpaid public servants doesn;t make you feel that you'd want to return anytime soon.
Hotel itself was very nice-rooftop pool overlooking the Acropolis. New and modern facilities, workout room, breakfast room. Front desk staff were very helpful once you got to talk to them. There was always only one person working the front desk so you always had to wait in line for service at busy times. Location was in a questionable area but convenient to subway. Restaurant was rather pricey.
The rooftop pool, truly outstanding with a beautiful view of Athens. The location, although not a particularly nice neighborhood is close to everything and steps from the metro station. The pool hours (10 am to 6 pm) are too restrictive if you're traveling on business.
i think the location it was one of the main reasons the fact that there was
staff helpfull and nice breackfast . small shower room, wouldn,t suit a fat person.
very nice people noisy during night, bad location
We chose this hotel for its value, which was unbeatable. The hotel actually offers decent accommodation for an extremely reasonable price. (Those who want to spend more or splurge on hotel fees should look for other alternatives.) We stayed very little indoors as we wanted to take advantage of the city itself. Considering the value for money, we were happy with the hotel and its free facilities (breakfast, wi-fi connection, Internet access, desktop computers). The highlight was the friendliness of the staff: never have we seen such a kind and helpful team. They really took their time to explain everything to us in a most detailed way. We had read the reviews on Booking.com before choosing this hotel, and, after visiting Athens, we agree that Omonia is not the safest area in the city, especially at night. This problem is *not* caused by the hotel itself, though. We should make it clear that we also experienced this feeling while visiting other Greek areas on foot and that this is a problem which plagues most big cities around the world. All in all, nothing happened to us and we were pretty much satisfied with the service provided by the hotel.
Very central and close to metro
breakfast was included. the beds were small and they would make noise when you turn your body. the bathroom floor would flood after shower.. it was a mess every night.
Incredibly helpful staff, free internet and a decent breakfast. The area was a little seedy, especially at night. Would not recommend coming back late after a night out without an accompanying male. But area was fine during the day and early evening.
Quite good value for money. Breakfast buffet was good and having free internet access in the hotel was excellent. Not as close to the metro station as we were lead to believe. Tripple room not big enough for 3 people.
Location Bathroom is too small and flood on the floor
Reception 24/24 Showers - too small and next to the toilet
Situation of the hotel in the city center, good price for single room The breakfest should be better, for example normal coffe and juce. Very early morning and in the night some people were very noisy and personal did not do nothing with this.
The hotel is great. The staff very friendly, nothing is too much trouble and theie English superb. On the day I left there was a taxi strike and they offered a car free of charge to the tube. The breakfast is very good. The rooms quite large and very clean. Internet connection in the room is an added bonus. The Art Hotel is a little away from the Plaka near Omonia. It is a 15 minute walk to the main tourist sites. The 5 minute walk to the tube takes you through an area frequented by prostitutes. I felt safe at all times and was not hassled at all but this may make some people feel uncomfortable.
Decor was unique, staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Eileen was helpful! They made us a breakfast two hours early before time because we had an early flight. The room was small, which in Athens is understandable, but the furniture was too big for the room. There were two a/c units in the room, which we didn't know one didn't work. Missing remote for the working one, and never cooled the room down. The phone didn't work until staff said we had to jiggle the cords. The area of the hotel wasn't the best, but the price reflected.
The hotel staff were very friendly and we were greeted with a complimentary drink on arrival. The hotel rooms and deco are very fresh, bright and modern. The hotel is located in a rather rough part of town with lots of people hanging around on the street.
location, friendly staff and informative with tourist information
The friendly welcome received after the while it took to get there was really pleasing, free drink and informative talk of where to go and what to see. Nothing bad about the hotel itself, just the outside location of poor quality but then again most of Athens is of poor quality.
The personell were very polite and they were trying to help you all the time! The breakfast was very good and the location of the hotel excellent. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were excellent. Great value for money definetely recommending it!!
The staff of the hotel is very friendly and service minded, even at night they provide you with internet wires, drinks etc a tiny criticism , the breakfast coffee is really not strong enough.
Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The common areas of the hotel are beautiful. Room was spacious. A/C worked exceptionally well. Bathroom was large. Room furnishings a bit dingy. Minor problems such as burnt out lightbulbs, no remote for the TV, shower drained very slowly. But for the nightly rate all these things were worth it.
Excellent staff, friendly and helpful. Exceptional room. The area around is not the best, but quite close to main attractions.
Friendly stuff. Dangerous area
The surrounding area is horrible.
Closeness to good restaurants, acropolis, and archeology museum Very rowdy crowds outside hotel all night Disliked that rooms were not refundable or changable
Fantastic location, nice roof terrace, very friendly staff. Only standard toast breakfast
The staff went overboard to make sure everyone had a good time. When we checked in we received a guidebook to Athens and several maps. When we checked out, the man at the desk insisted on giving us a ride to our bus!!!! The hotel is wonderful in the budget category. The wireless internet worked like a charm in our room, the breakfast was sumptuous, and the air conditioner worked great. The bathroom was a little small but not a big problem. The neighborhood is a bit iffy; probably not a good choice for a single.
The accomodations were great for the price.free and fast internet everywhere in the hotel.very helpful and polite staff.the rooms were very cleaned.Excellent location with cheap restaurants, cheap shops and beautifull cafes around there.breakfast was very good and orange submarine just outside the hotel is great for coffee and fast food.i absolutely stay again there....you get more than you pay for.... everything was just perfect.
Good budget hotel near shopping area, friendly reception personnel.Very helpful and courteous.Despite the reception advised to be careful of pickpocket unfortunately I was pickpocket at Omonia train station. My advise to traveller, if the train is packed with people, avoid going into the train , wait for another train.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The area was fantastic, with lots going on well into the night, excellent cafes, tavernas and restaurants, and the square was a lovely place to spend any time of day or night. A nice walk in to the city, and great to be away from the most touristy parts of Athens. Others have mentioned the noisy neighbourhood, which was kind of true (though I suspect it would be of most Athens neighbourhoods), but personally I liked it, and slept with my window open specifically so that I could hear what was going on outside. I wouldn't bother to look for another hotel if I ever returned to Athens. The only thing was that when I turned up, they did not have a room set aside for me. He tried to suggest I had made a change after my original booking (I hadn't), then sent me to an occupied room, before finding me an empty one. So there was no problem, although if there hadn't been any empty rooms I suppose there might have been.
Close proximity to major squares and sites, walkable. Great internet. The elevator is busted.
I can't speak more highly of this hotel and it's staff. I stayed elsewhere in Athens for more money the year before so it was a delight to find I could spend an amount I could actually afford and be so comfortable. I also loved Exarchion. I loved the energy and the people on the streets. I fell in love with Athens this time and that had a lot to do with where I stayed.
Non-tourist area. Close to National Archeological Museum. Close to good, reasonably priced restaurants and bars at Exarchion Square. Great view from room. Standard complimentary breakfast with instant coffee. Was impressed with housekeeping service. Overall quiet at night. Reasonable rate. Far walk at night to the nearest metro. Question safety walking at night to metro. Lots of narrow streets/sidewalks. Much graffiti in the area. Made sure I did not venture far from the square at night otherwise took a taxi back to hotel. Would not recommend area for families. Okay for single or young couples.
hotel staff was very kind people. that's the best hotel which could be stayed in Athens at reasonable cost
Clean rooms . Had a room next to the lift (no balcony as promised) with so much noise that we could not sleep. Would rather stay at a hotel with no breakfast, because it was lousy. The eggs were boiled too much! And the bread was not worth eating.
Hotel near center of city, possible to reach every place by walking, staff informing with will Toilets for giant :)
It was short - but a very nice and helpful staff - good location and a very fair price
One of the receptionist has no english skill.
The staff was helpfull. The location of the hotel is good, but the area near hotel is not good. I dont know why in the 3 star hotels in Greece there are no fruits or vegatables(breakfast), tomatoes, even olivs.Greece is not Island....
Good room, good breakfest, nice people, pleasant stay Only one car parking place.
Owners very nice. Location and very basic for the money.
The hotel has wi-fi all around and the staff is excellent, especialy the man in the night called "juanito", speak in spanish and is so friendly and always bring us solutions for all. Omonia is a specially place because near are prostitutes and yonkis but never feel me insecure, if you don´t look in a curious way, they leave you go quiet,
Ideal for simple base in an expensive city (Athens); good breakfast buffet, simple bar, mixed clients. Area (ex red light district!) might put off the nervous! But not us, we enjoyed our stay and they provided an excellent map (when we eventually found the place in the dark), together with helpful suggestions on sites, transport etc etc. The lift was best avoided! Stairs got us into training for the Acropolis.
The staff were wonderful, friendly and very helpful. I liked everything.
Cheap price, suited our needs. Did not provide transportation to airport as advertised.
Light was poor , open shower the bad was a mess after shiwering
breakfasts and well-wishing ambience the noise from the street
good location, near to omnia, nice stuff, clean room and bathroom
Good price, in the city center. Hotel is very old and need renewal..
peace and quiet. breakfast buffet. location. friendly staff.the fact that the room was cleaned every day although the staff were friendly they could have been more informative at the front desk regarding surrounding area . i actually got mugged coming home one night not more than 500 yards from the hotel.
clean and comfortable, friendly staff, good breakfast, easy to find and close to the metro, although near the famous Omonia square, the police nextdoor makes it a safe location, good price for quality value
Room service parking check in check out The photos on the site are too good and not true
budget of money of course very close to the metro , 1min the bed was big enough for a couple and the shower was excelent.Very helpfull guy on the entrance of the hotel the area... very bad not recoment for a family , special during the night time and i didn't like when they say to me that i can't pay with visa card cause the jcc machine was broken, i didn't believe cause i road it on a previous review from other couple
Nothing Everything, especially cleaning that does not exist !!!!!!
The staff were great, We could not ask for a better owner. The location to the subay made life in Athens easy. We will be back. The area is rough looking, but no prolems with the people what so ever.
The room and the bathroom were clean and we had one of the bedrooms at the back which meant it was quiet at night. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The buffet breakfast was very 'basic'. On our final day, the water in our ensuite just stopped working. The staff were helpful and gave us access to another bathroom for showers etc but it was rather inconvenient.
location for the train was good
Close to the city center and subway. Friendly staff. The room was not isolated well against the noise insight and out site of the hotel. The motorbikes made a lot of noise in the nights.
The taxi driver knew exactly where it was and was able to take us straight there from the airport in double quick time, as our flight didn't get in until 02:00. The hotel porter was on hand to ensure we got checked in and settled very quickly which helped enormously as I had my 10 year old sone with me. Due to all the travelling, my son threw up just as we got to the room, but the porter dealt with it brilliantly.
Very close to metro station. Room is very clean with new funiture. Value for money and we would go again. The metro closet to the hotel is a major pick-pocket spot. We were targeted twice in 1 day, and we don't look rich.
Very warm and friendly family enviroment, clean rooms, exceptional shower equipment... and despite the location, very very quite. all in one: highly recommended value for money
Close to the metro, cafes and bars in Victoria Square. There was a nice shaded patio area at the back to have breakfast in. If anything, a little tiring climbing 3 flights of stairs in the heat of summer.
