The location Did not like the restaurant staff. One waitress was very, very rude.
Conveniently located for visiting Aix. The staff was very gracious and our request for a quiet room was fulfilled. The room seemed small for a 'luxe' hotel and the window was also small and placed high which contributed to the claustiphoic feel.
cleanliness and comfort
no bath although one was requested-room smelt of smoke ,although non smoking requested-when mentioned to reception told that they were full and nothing could be done
1.) Good quality breakfast buffet. (but the most expensikve one of all 4 star hotels I know). 2.) Komfortble parking facilities. No, nothing that could not be taken care of at the desk.
Comfort, location, free internet.
Efficient and pleasant service. Nice swimming pool. Good, if slightly expensive, breakfast. Comfortable bed and bathroom.
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Very clean and comfortable. The facility is good and good location. It's convenient to reach the downtown area. No.
The hotel has recently been renovated and was very clean and comfortable. The staff was generally good to excellent. There were not enough personnel at Reception when checking in and checking out. Epsecially when there are tour groups at the hotel, it is essential to increase taffing at the Reception desk.
we liked access to the thermes (whirlpool, hammam, sauna) and the location of the hotel. staff not really welcoming and the bathroom was not as clean we expected.
Location, bright room, clean. Access to the spa (not free), sauna and jacuzzi and fitness (free). Parking included (10 euro per night). Regular price is 195 euro and it is very high. We stayed there for our 39 wedding day and your agent informed them about it but they did nothing about it.
The location was excellent in the centre of Aix and we especially enjoyed relaxing in the sheltered garden in the warm sunshine in November.
It was close to airport for car drop off. That was the only thing we liked about the hotel. The room was very low budget. Not nice. Restaurant had no ambiance. The only hotel we did not like on our trip to France. We will not stay again and will not recommend it. Staff signed us up for shuttle and there was no Shuttle. If you are used to upper class hotels, stay somewhere else and take their shuttle or a taxi to the airport. It was a bad way to end our trip. We ended up lugging our luggage for at least a half mile to shuttle to airport. You may as well stay in a nice hotel and have an enjoyable last night...and you won't have to lug your luggage. Unless you can't afford a better hotel, don't stay here.
location, staff, confort...
good room. clean --
This hotel offered ideal, central location, accommodating and kind staff, great value and charm. We were looking for a relaxing stay and it was quiet, peaceful and our balcony offered a gorgeous view just above the city. The table and chairs outside were a perfect place to start the day with coffee and enjoy the sunset shinning from St. Victoire to Marseille. The TV offered channels in several languages and fresh robes and slippers always available to wear over to the spa. Although we never ate at the restaurant, the bar offered good drinks in a nice environment. Excellent value and experience. Parking was a little tricky, would be nice if they offered vallet with the overnight fee.
The friendly and helpful staff.
Very good location, close to city center The shower hanger was broken.
Localização Atendimento dos funcionários
The relaxed ambience and the excellent pool facilities
The location in Aix-en-Provence was ideal - right in the heart of the city center, close to all the shops, cafes. The price was good considering the location, and our room had a wonderful view.
The hotel staff were very helpful and extremely friendly in a relaxed natural manner. We had a boiler breakdown (no0 hot water) one morning and they were very apologetic and provided breakfast without charge. The rooms are a little tired - clean but carpet stains and chpped paintwork let them down.
A real find. An excellent hotel.
This is a great place as a home base for touring around the South of France. It is clean and confortable and unique. It is within walking distance to Cours Mirabeau and provides free parking if you reserve it in advance. We were relieved as parking in Aix en Provence is a challenge.
An excellent, clean, well run hotel with some nice touches close to everything!
The facilities were excellent, staff very friendly and helpful and the location very handy to the historic centre, restaurants and shops. A very comfortable hotel, modern and well-thought out rooms.
Location / Staff / Breakfast served from 06.30am until 12 noon Have stayed before second visit.
The location is good and the room is clean & tidy.
The room was spacious and clean and the design was modern. Free internet and staff that was generally helpful.
The staff was courteous and helpful and responsive to special requests. The rooms were renovated and had wall TV and internet connections.
Helpful staff. Free off-street parking. Caramel candies at the front desk. Free internet access.Free soft drinks in the minibar. Design of the lobby and guestroom. I thought the 19-euro price for breakfast was high, so we did not eat there.
Good service. . But it's hell finding the hotel coming from the highway
better cost benefit (price per day Vs quality of room and facilities )- close to all principal city exits / nice pool area as well expensive breakfast
Good room Pigeons on the roof (very noisy and annoying) no parking space around
We, I did not like that the breakfast where more expensive then you said, we have to pay 13€ not 12€, as it was when we booked the room.
The hotel staff is trully excellent, very knid and readu to help at all times. The hotel is plainly beautiful, with amazing gardens and a nice swimming pool! Moreover, we can very strongly recommend the restaurant, probably the best food we ever had.
The location , confort and hospitality
The garden The room was tiny and the bed was small and old. A bit overpriced for what it is.
Quiet hotel but close to town centre, very comfortable with beautiful garden
The facility and the grounds were great. Staff was helpful and accomodating. Everything was good.
Very nice hotel. Good Restaurant. Spacious room and bathroom.
the room size it was a little cold
Beautiful hotel and grounds. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The breakfast is very expensive, as is the restaurant if you decide to eat in the hotel.
One of the desk staff, Valerie, was extremely helpful and friendly. Her recommendations made Aix-en-Provence and the hotel a definite return for us. The majority of the desk staff and other staff were less than friendly and we felt a little uncomfortable to ask questions even though I speak french.
Very attentive staff, excellent food, calm atmosphere
Location in Aix de Provence Directions to the hotel, it difficult to find, drove around for an hour at night trying to find the property. Thomas was very helpful when I called for better directions.
Very clean rooms, had a fitness room and good gym equipment (2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, and a rowing machine), free parking, good rate, quiet. Far from the city center, small rooms, staff was okay but not overly helpful.
Parking, clean rooms and reasonably quiet although close to motorway Location - not to stay here without a car
nice and tidy room, unlimited wifi service, spacious carpark... room too small, distant from town centre...
- restaurant open and not too expensive; - close to bus stop: - confortable, large and for free parking - noise from highway very well screened - small room for three persons - no minibar (you could need to keep low temperature for children's food)
The pool at the end of a hot day was fantastic. It was easy to get into centre ville from the hotel and the air conditioning actually worked.
Very nice room, for fair price. Wireless connection to internet for free for 15 min. It's enoght for quick checking emails. Why there is just one plug in for electrical devices? Now days on holidays you have notebook, camera or digital photo camera and mobile phone. And you have to charge them over night.
newly renovated hotel with perfect bathroom& High bed^very comfortable to sleep it is very far from city center!!!! good for business confereneces^ probably but not for family rest for such a price
the size of the rooms. i had to upgrade to a suit with no discount
The hotel is great! The room is cleaned and had the towels changed everyday and the bed is very confortable. The breakfast is very good as well. The location is perfect, because is near to the highways and you can travel around Provence easily. The parking is free!
Nice Chateau Hotel but surrounded by big suburbun malls
area and nature around the hotel. service and Cuteness.Restaurant with high quality and professional food.
beautiful place. felt at home very quickly, probably because all is very open. you can come and go everywhere.relaxing atmosphere. We had a room with a little private terrace which was very nice. We did not eat the at the restaurant, but it looked good. the lighting of the main terrace could be improved. nevermind it was nice
Attention to detail....staff could not be more helpful...
The delicious dinner in the beautiful outdoor setting, the lovely swimming pool, outstanding morning coffee, our lovely balcony
I liked the rooms with private garden, the shady trees, the grounds and the food.
The Chateau itself is nice -- it has a nice 'rustic, old world elegance' about it. The grounds are lovely and the staff was friendly. If it wasn't for our rooms, I would recommend the hotel. However, if you can verify that your room will be in the chateau itself, the whole experience may be better. We were placed in another building outside the chateau. The rooms my family stayed in were not up to the Chateau's 4-star rating (be warned!). I will say that they were large enough and had nice sitting areas outside - a nice addition for families travelling with children or in groups. Note that the pool did not have a 'shallow end' - so this not ideal for small children. But my kids loved running around the grounds.
I liked the chateau and grounds, the pool, the outdoor dining area and my room. The location was not optimal for the type of visit I had.
authentic XVI, XVII and XVIII century building with many features remaining unchanged. It creates a very special atmosphere; flexibility of breakfast time and checkout - no-one called us at checkout time to ask us leave the rooms. there is no public transport connection to the city on Friday; the lobby staff had very limited knowledge of the surroundings (e.g. bus schedule, airport transportation, shops opening hours etc), the restaurant was closed and we weren't notified.
Yes, very much. We stayed an extra day. Price of drinks.
We liked the little restaurant beside the pool which was open for lunch and prices were reasonable. Location was not ideal alongside a busy road and car showroom with a 10 minute walk to town.
Whilst not in the centre of town it was within an easy walk to town, restaurants etc. This hotel is situated alongside a railway line and a car lot and for the room rate there were other hotels with the same star rating in better parts of town for less money giving me the opinion that this hotel was over priced and not good value.
convenienceto town + cost
safe underground parking, good breakfast buffet, very clean, convenient walking distant to downtown (10 min)
Central to all facilities. Access to motorway I think the hotel website should clarify, as do others, that there is a fee for car parking.
Great location and well priced. An enjoyable stay with a good pool and parking available on site and on the street. Clean rooms and WiFi reception was good.
Great petite dejuener
The room was very comfortable and I enjoyed the food in the restaurant
Location; only 10 to 15 minutes walk to town centre Outdoor swimming pool
Ease of auto access from autoroute; ten minute walk to town centre; hotel restaurant for late arrival
comfort, seclusion location: a bit out of the way, but convenient when you have a car
We stayed there for a night, the room was clean and the bed of goog quality. The pool and the terrasse were nice as well. The elevator was too small and old. The breakfast was too expensive altought the qulity was good. With open windows, you could hear the motorway.
large and quiet place. remote from city center.
Easy to find, next to the city. Good solution also for a family with children. Small rooms. TV doesn't work.
Helpful and polite staff, nice pool! Directions were hard to understand, and the room was a bit small
location, off the freeway no
great pool, nice eating areas outside for breakfast and dinner Publicizes that it has walking/jogging trails. Yes there is one across a small river with no access to get to it on foot or any information given from the hotel staff. In fact they had trouble locating the key for so called trail (should of been our first hint) trail ended up being weeds, loose rocks, sticker bushes at calf and thigh height. Air conditioning was terrible in the room, very very hot, it seemed as if they had it controlled for room temperature.
room was comfortable, staff were helpful the airconditioning was very inefficient in the room
The environment of this hotel is very good if you don't mind that you have to stay in the town. It's suitable for people who love to travel to other villages in Provence. It's near the motorway. However, its location's a little bit complicated for us who don't live in Europe. gps helps us a lot
The Hotel was neat and clean, well equipped and very near to the City by car. The toilet room smelled a little bit bad.
Very good restaurant and service We struggled a little without a sink plug but it was only for one night so we managed
It was really very cheap on booking, and located conveniently outside the city. Yes, it was actually slightly dodgy to me, and we had 2 visitors that night in the form of tiny cockroaches...the room in itself though seemed quite clean...
to have been welcome, full amenities in the room particularly in the bath... the rooms are too dark.
Reasonable price in a reasonable location for access to my work location. Conversely, not very convenient for the town centre
Two of the male desk attendants were excellent and helpful! Hotel hard to find!
The room was clean The room was very small. We booked a triple room and the third bed was actually a shakedown very uncomfortable.
Proche du centre d aix, au calme et surtout pas cher La chambre sentait la cigarette
Cleanliness of room, good value, great location
Easy affordable clean Gates locked at night and entry to hotel was then very difficult
nice & clean hotel, very good breakfast, very good value for money.
it's better to making your own meal in your room because it's very hard to find one interesting restaurant in town. I have to wash all cooking appliances. They all kinda dirty, and got a lot of stain.
Personnel was friendly Not clean (bathrooms); there was mildew all around the sink and the shower head was about to come out of the the wall. Towels were not the cleanest either. There was hair everywhere.
excellent location: most of staff very helpful only provide 1 roll of toilet paper per stay and do not provide automatic dish washer soap: need to buy both at market:
It was probably the best breakfast ever offered at any hotel I've stayed at in France. The waiting staff however, seemed a bit clueless - not noting all the used dishes stacking up on the tables and having to ask them to fill up the milk and hot water flasks. Also, a tramp followed us into the hotel one day, through the parking garage. He went straight to the garbage room and started raking around. When I mentioned this to hotel staff, they said they were aware of it and allowed him to do this. Although he seemed harmless, I felt this innapropriate in terms of the access he had to the cars and also that he could gain directly into the hotel!
Very well located, close to the city center and all the shopping and restaurants. Has its own parking lot so you don't have to worry about not having any place to park. The hotel staff was nice enough to help us make a few calls for restaurant reservations. The room is quite sizable for Europe's standards. The room was okay clean and average, don't expect too much. There's only one elevator and so it's super slow and it smells bad.
Friendly staff, easy access, perfect location and nice, spacious room with kitchenette - in my opinion the perfect choice for exploring Aix-en-Provence
Idea of having our own kitchen facilities and its location Although I booked well in advance and requested both - the lack of a double bed and no smoking apartment on our arrival. The lack of any housekeeping for a 6 night stay when you get daily service for less than 3 night stay. having to empty our own bins.
The location was great. The suite was very well equipped with cooking utensils, drying rack for clothes, blankets, dishes etc. It was quiet and comfortable. It was good value. Convenient to supermarket.
close to city center, friendly staff, good facilities, Nothing at all
Got in after reception closed and had to have taxi driver call for instructions on how to get in room.
Great location, good for a weekend visit to Aix en Provence, or longer. Cooking facilities in the room were excellent, as was the manner of the staff of the reception desk. The corridors of the hotel are in desperate need of refurbishment.
The staff was delightful, helpful in finding the best restaurants, suggesting the best route to our next location, overall for 2 non French speaking tourist just wonderful. Also loved our room! They need to explain on the web how to access the hotel by car if you're driving as the road is accessible of you know to ask to enter and also how to call for access to the side road, barriers do lower to allow for access.
At the heart of the city therefore great location. Good hotel for the price we paid. Double glazing so you don't hear a sound on the street which is hard to find in central hotels
Location of hotel was excellent in a small square just off the Cours de Mirabeau. Hotel is currently being renovated so a lot of restorative work. Our room was perhaps a little "tired". Parking in Aix is rather expensive
Excellent location (if a little difficult to find) and if you want a genuine Provencal experience (in other words if you hate Hilton style country anonymous hotels) this is a great choice. Donlt be put off by lack of parking as there is loads of new parking (follow signs to Rotunda parking) within an easy 3 minutes walk of the hotel. It is very noisy outside all day and all night but well worth it for the setting and for being the heart of what is happening. Bring ear plugs and enjoy it.
the stuff was very nice and friendly.
The location was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The overall look and feel of the hotel is dingy. The window in the room provided very little light, and there was no window in the bathroom. The shower had a brown spot on the floor and we didn't feel comfortable using it.
Location in the center of Aix. The room should have a safe.
this hotel is not up to your usual standards difficult to find, facilities not good and not value for money
The location was perfect to explore te old part of Aix-en-Provence Time allocated for breakfast was very limiting
Location, location, location. Located steps from the main street, Cours Mirabeau, but on a little plaza with wonderful restaurants and night life. Windows were modern and closed out all sound when needing to rest. Staff was most helpful. Air conditioning malfunctioned while I was there, was unable to cool room during fairly warm weather. Notified front desk, but unit was not repaired in the week I was there. Other coworkers attending the same conference had no such problems, however.
Wonderfully located old hotel with a charm of its own; a gem in the most "happening" place at Rue Espariat in Aix. Within walking distance to historical sites, markets, tourist information centre and eateries. Thank you to the reception and hotel staff who were very helpful, friendly and obliging. As I was visiting Aix with my mother, the location of the hotel is exceptionally good for those who can't walk the distance. I will definitely come back for another stay. Don't expect much of the interior of the hotel and the rooms-basic comfort as this is an old hotel, soak up the old charm. The location and wonderful hotel staff makes up for everything.
location and large room entrance to hotel - stairs are very tired and stained
It's located center of the vill and close to bus stop of T.G.V.,,,but calm. When I reserved this hotel , I noticed that there is under renovation. Because you said so. First night It's old room, we were not comfortable. So, next day I asked so. They changed to new one. We are very appreciate .
Excellent location, V. short walk to the Cours Mirabeau and the main sights. Friendly receptionist, and nice big rooms for the price. Decent value for money. Nothing to major, if being picky the bathroom could have done with a shower curtain.
Perfect location for us: close to the thermal spa, not far from the Cours Mirabeau and tourist office, delicious restaurant 5 minutes away (Le Petit Verdot). Friendly and helpful front desk staff.
Nice and clean, reasonable value for money. only stayed one night and no complaints, it was perhaps a little noisy in our room next to the street, but it really wasn't that bad
Great location and good sized room overlooking the amphitheatre. We decided to change the room, which the staff were very accomodating in doing so. Good breakfast and hotel facilities.
Room was to a very high standard, very centrally located and although on a busy road, the two windows with double glazing kept the sound out. Some of the staff were a bit rude but all staff provided the service they are meant to.
Location Poor sound insulation
Very friendly staff and the central location. 1) No single hook in the bathroom. 2) We got exactly the same breakfast during the 5 days of our stay which was served on a tray (no buffet). 3) No lift. 4) No single English TV channel (minor disadvantage)
Excellent in every way. On arrival receptionist was wonderful - happy and helpful. Very comfortable hotel and in such a great location - couldnt be better. We stayed on for a fourth night because we liked it so much We honestly couldnt find any bad points. However, we think your website does not do justice to your hotel. It was because of guest reviews that made us decide to book the hotel
The hotel staff was particularly very nice and the location is great.
The room allocated at the first it smelled badly, thus, I asked change the room.
The location was excellent being in the heart of the old area and near areas of interest. The parking was very convenient. The hotel and room was clean. The hotel was warn. It can use a makeover.
Spatial room (403). Courteous service. Central location. No.
Very Central Located! Clean room The hairdryer was old and didnt work very well. No good shampoo and body wash.
Good position of the hotel
location shoddy, poor quality facilities, hairdryer hanging off wall
It is an attractive, classic hotel with lots of atmosphere, right in the heart of an interesting city, and next to the old town, near many restaurants and brasseries and a good market. There was no wifi in the room (although there was a computer with internet access in the lobby) and no hand towels were provided, just big bath towels.
big clean room, in the center of aix. big bathroom. When I'm on a business trip I need wireless internet. They didn't have complimentary wifi and that is a big minus for me.
Good clean room reasonable size with refridgerator, staff very helpful, parking excellent and nice pool Charged extr for pool towels, and to use the spa
Central, not expensive considering the location Our booking had been lost when I called to find out about car parking, but apparently it turned up later in the day
Very peaceful and tranquil environment yet close to the town of Aix en Provence No
not much noisy location; rooms very gloomy
Big room and big bed. Sepration between the room and the toilet. beautiful setting in the room.Wonderful garden. lovely breakfast. Gourme dinner. Staff hospitality. We liked everything
worderful place, good restaurant no
excellant room with a nice private garden area, excellent food and excellent outdoor dining in the courtyard
The lovely surroundings, good ambience, hotel furnishing, excellent restaurant (one of the best I tried, even in France) The fact that the staff assumed we would take the expensive breakfast, while we preferred to have it outside the hotel, at a much better price.
Wonderful setting and more a top restaurant, with a dozen rooms, than a hotel with eating facilities - that's the focus but it works well. Our room was a little dark but generously sized. While it is a little out of town, the bus into Aix is convenient and only costs 1 Euro.
