We liked the welcome and all the staff who were friendly and helpful. The room and bed were extremely comfortable, great breakfast and the whole stay was a delight. The hotel is very well placed for getting round Edinburgh. We would highly recommend and would definitely use it again.

Weekend break Edinburgh
A very centrally located hotel with a freindly and helpful staff. The room was of a fair size with all you would expect of a hotel of this standing.
Although the room was finely furnished the room lighting was poor.

Overall Good but a few teething problems still nee
Location. Friendly Staff. The new bar/restaurant area looks good however the only downside is the seating area near the bar soon filled up and even though there were empty tables on the lower floor level there seemed to be a reluctance to give these to guests who just wanted a drink.
The reception area is still going through refurbishment which meant long queues soon began to build up when guests began arriving in numbers which was an inconvenience to be honest. No doubt this will be resolved when the work is completed.

great location, clean, but lacking in staff warmth
Location, cleanliness and the staff who welcomed at door. They have a great manner and seem genuinely want to please guests.
Reception staff need much more warmth, smile more and actually treat people as such. Rooms clean bu quite small for price - felt a little cramped at time.

The InterContinental Edinburgh The George has been welcoming hotel guests since 1881. At its heart are five listed Georgian townhouses, built in 1775 as homes for Edinburgh’s most prosperous citizens. The hotel is an ideal base from which to explore the city or conduct business. The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen was once home to acclaimed novelist Susan Ferrier, whilst Burr & Co. is a lovely quirky coffee shop with a devoted local following. The hotel also boasts 8 meeting rooms and equipped gym.
