Despite having seats assigned we did not fly Customer service was just awful dealing with overbookings
The issue of excess baggage. Would appreciate to buy on line before my flight so that I know how much to carry and also that I am covered before leaving home. Payment at the airport may be too costly as well as unreasonable. It's like a penalty for having excess luggage. This is the reason I prefer flying with EMIRATES because they afford me to but pay fir excess luggage before my departure. Planning ahead is key

My seat was unable to recline. My husband and I were moved to a middle aisle (although we really didn't want to share) only to find that the foot rest at my foot rest was also faulty. It was an uncomfortable flight
If there are empty first row seats, with extra leg room, I don't see why you couldn't let people use them just because they didn't pay the extra $100. It's absurd that once we are 40 thousand feet in the air you would enforce keeping those seats empty instead of increasing the happiness/comfort level of at least some people aboard. Also the food quality should improve.
Nice staff, comfortable seating and reasonable variety of food.
No information about transfers, had to transfer own luggage. On the flight back it was rescheduled the night before but not enough time for transfer and so I and many others missed our connection flights and were stranded at the airport for six hours. There weren't enough staff to handle the situation and rebook or help with customers who were clearly stressed and drum up. This was really disappointing.
The plane was comfortable; the entertainment modern with a fair selection of newer movies; and the little comfort packets were nice.
The plane was delayed (on both my Bangkok link and the one to the States. We had booked a layover tour and missed out. We could have still made the tour if we had known earlier that the second leg was late as well. The customs agent took my duty-free zippo which had NO GAS in it (and I was later told by a Chinese citizen was taken to be sold later by the agent). I missed my connection in the US. The flight attendant was rude to us, but extremely nice to the Chinese citizen sitting next to us (several times skipped us when delivering snacks - we were awake). At one point, I had to go back and get a snack from the back). There was no comfortable seats in the Beijing Airport area where we were cornered (and the food was overpriced). They ran out of drinks. More than disappointing
The Plane itself was comfortable, the entertainment system was modern & clear with lots of good choice.
Flight was delayed 6 hours leaving Beijing. No explanation or ETD was given during the 6 hour wait

The food was atrocious and this was business class. The toilet lights were so dimmed all the time you couldn't see what was going on. Last year we flew business class Cathay pacific from Hong Kong to Melbourne and loved it. This year we decided to fly from Melbourne to Dusseldorf and then from Frankfurt to Melbourne with this airline. Won't be doing that again. Why pay business class fares to be disapointed
Being an experienced traveller, I am for the first tine encounter a female flight attendant who was not only impolite to passengers, and kicked toilet doors!
Everything was on time, with no hitches or major inconveniences.
I prefer the newer planes which include USB ports for charging mobile devices. This one had a power socket instead, which was usable, but only when the tray table was down, which was mildly annoying. First world problem, really.
Good food and service.
The premium economy cabin configuration - it was a full flight, I was seated at the right-hand side of the cabin, and the toilet is at the left, and it was not easy and having to step on people's feet to go to the tooilet.
Boarding was quick and efficient. Crew did their job pleasantly .
Food was very ordinary, not up to what I expect in business class.
No instructions for passengers who are in transit. Instructions on where to go would help. This could be done in the flight before we disembark and also at the exit gate.

Great flight! The seats were comfortable and spacious. The crew was friendly and informative and the bathrooms were clean.

Service on the ground and in the air was efficient, if somewhat cool and uninterested. (The exception was at checkin counter where the service was great.) options for entertainment were great. Food was decent, legroom was decent, plane was older but still decent....
The entire plane's group of passengers seemed to be lined up at the boarding gate - no explanation why, but they were checking ID's. Then the line just moved into the plane. I prefer boarding by rows, especially when traveling with my young son. Air crew seemed pretty uninterested in anything beyond the basic requirements of the job.
The cost public transportation made miss the flight and i had to buy a new ticket and i was not helped at All when i called the company
Good flight crew
Hard to understand English and didn't exert enough effort to let the connecting flight wait for 5 mins. Had to extend half a day doing nothing in the airport instead.

The seating was a bit cramped. Because I have long legs there wasn't a lot of room between rows. I have been on other flights with China Airlines where the seating was comfortable and roomy but this flight wasn't. The entertainment screen was not very user friendly. The screen was small and not very clear to watch.
