Disembarking was extremely time consuming; there were few signs instructing connecting passengers where to go; and the employees of the airport were extremely unhelpful and gave conflicting information. I made my flight with only minutes to spare after going through two security and passport checkpoints and sprinting an entire wing of the airport. I will never fly through Ataturk (or anywhere in Turkey) again."

ข้อเสีย: "I've flown Turkish a few times before, and they're generally pretty good for the price. This trip was different. Despite Turkish Airlines policies outlined in their "Customer Rights," I received no notification that the flight was delayed 3 hours, and there was no notification at the JoBurg airport until you go to the counter to check in. JoBurg staff - which are Menzies third-party contractors, not Turkish staff - were disorganized, uncommunicative, and unhelpful. Only one person at the check in desk seemed to have authorization to make any changes, so all other agents were running back and forth to speak with him, and not communicating with passengers. It took over an hour to get clarity on the situation and rebook my connecting flight to Washington for a different flight 8 hours later. The only compensation offered was one meal voucher worth R100 (roughly $7). They would not even look at other Star Alliance flights for early arrival in Washington, and said they were not authorized to consider upgrading my ticket. When I called the Turkish customer service, they essentially said "What do you want us to do about it? You have to submit a formal complaint." Boarding was totally disorganized. In theory there are boarding groups, but after business class and all the high-ranking loyalty members, it's pretty much a mad rush. This seems to be the common practice for Turkish now. In general, Turkish has a great entertainment system on all their long-haul flights, with tons of movies - including very new releases - music, games, etc. They also provide complimentary kits with socks, slippers, eye mask, earplugs and dental kit, even for economy passengers. The meals are fairly good for airlines. However, legroom in economy isn't great. I'm 6'1", and had difficulty getting comfortable with my knees jammed into the back of the seat in front of me. On this particular flight, I was in row 18. The cabin crew were frantic, disorganized, and shouting to each other across passengers. One half of our row was served the meal, and the other half had to wait over 30 minutes to be served for some reason. By that time the vegetarian option was no longer available. Crew also had to run back and forth between service carts because they were frequently out of very common beverages (like sparkling water. And ice.), and on two occasions crew left a drawer from a cart full of trash sitting in the aisle. There were several times that crew ran carts into passengers - including once into my knee that was not in the aisle - and didn't even acknowledge doing so. They also stopped the carts in front of occupied lavatories, temporarily trapping passengers. So not terribly professional. While not specifically on this flight, the experience in Istanbul airport with Turkish Airlines' staff was awful. Zero interest in helping, rude and dismissive, and overall terrible."

I felt that they could have been more understanding about this."

ข้อเสีย: "The cabin crew was definitely understaffed: flight attendants serving Premium Economy were also serving the Economy class, we had to wait for a very long time for the trays to be removed. There was apparently some problem with the lavatory in the Premium Economy class. Midway to Moscow, it was locked without an explanation and flight attendants were directing Premium Economy passengers to the Economy class lavatories."

ข้อเสีย: "overall my experience with this company as bad! the crew was not nice at all and were angry, without knowing any proper English (the flight attendant asked me in Russian what i want to eat so i answered her English please and she rolled her eyes and threw the meal she hold to my tray. Once we landed Moscow for our connecting flight we had 3 hours at the airport, on my boarding ticket the gate was 26, i came for the boarding to gate 26 but no one was there!!!! so i startes to asked people around where is the gate and since they dond know any English they are lying!!! some told me gate 33 some told me 28 and some told me a different terminal! this airport is huge! the the people that work there are not nice, very rood and angry and English it's not a language they will understand. Therfore, i missed my flight, running around trying to search my gate they changed on the last minute, in the end someone told me it was on gate 22! but they slready took off. SO i went to the operation office to get a new ticket- I met the most repulsive man which should provide a good customer service. He told me that was my mistake for not taking care to check why no one was at the gate/// WHAT?! Just mentioned it wasnt just me missing the flight, they were another 5 people with me and another 5 from other flights! the next flight was 13 hours later. he said maybe he can get free ticket for me, but he's not sure. I laughed and said not only I'm not supposed to pay for the flight, you should compensate me! So he took the ticket he gave me, smiling, and said "if you don't want it, it's OK' don't take it, bye bye" I WAS FURIOUS!!! I took the damn ticket, waited 13 hours to my next flight (which BTW the gate was also changed) and came home. I was alone traveller, came from Thailand after 10 hours flight, and went all this nightmare ALONE (i'm a women)! WILL NEVER FLY WITH AEROFLOT, will never do a connecting fight in Moscow and most probably will never visit this country full with cold and angry people!!!! FYI- will post this in every flight web!"

This created so much chaos at the baggage claim that the staff was completely overwhelmed and many people missed their connecting flights. I'm still without my (and my son's) luggage and I'm not confident I'm ever going to see it again."

ข้อดี: "I absolutely enjoyed everything about my flight from LA to Moscow. The plane was very nice, the food was good, and there were multiple drink services. I appreciated the slippers and eye mask at every seat. The in-flight video system worked well and had lots to choose from. I especially enjoyed watching subtitled Russian movies to get a taste of the culture."

The checkout charged me $60 to check a bag, when I looked on my reservation it says it’s $55 and when I called customer service they said they charge $100 to check 1 bag less than 20kg for an international flight"

ข้อเสีย: "Plane was late taking off and almost missed my next connection. Due to landing late my luggage did not make it on make it on my flight. However the airline delivered to my place the following morning. It was not an inconvenience to me as the baggage was delivered in a timely fashion. Thank you Finnair!"

ข้อดี: "I loved the colors of the flight.light blue and green. Gave a peaceful ambience. The flight attendants were very courteous and smiling. Especially the women flight attendants. The food was excellent. It was interesting that the flight from Helsinki to Chicago served a Indian style dinner comprising of lentils, rice and chickpeas. I liked that too, though I prefer the meditarranean fare. I liked the boarding as they were very strict about families with children and gave them priority before other passengers."
ข้อเสีย: "I did not find too many indian films which I would have liked, especially in a flight because Indian movies are 3 hours long and help to pass the time quickly :). I would have liked more variety in the Hollywood movies as well. They mostly had much older films and hardly any of the new releases while Emirates flight had lot many more new releases and oscar winning movies. They served the Indian amul cheese which is not worthy of serving on a flight, and they could have served some better cheese."

ข้อเสีย: "Experience was totally let down by the airport; nothing to blame the aircraft staff though. Avoid Helsinki airport like the plague for stopovers: bad signage, woeful information how to get to the city efficiently in English. HORRIBLE experience when trying to get lost property: you got to PAY for your initial email or pay top dollar just for a stupid and aggravating phone call!!! The number of exclamation marks is not exaggerated here. You can't even ask if they even have the item in their possession. Rarely had such a bad experience at an airport, and I travel a lot for work. This alone makes me think thrice about EVER getting Finnair again. Same company that manages the airport, so I'm giving this flight a bad review."

ข้อเสีย: "The flight was 1 1/2 hrs late!!!! This seems to be a regular pattern from what I understand from others who have travelled the same itinerary. Not good if this becomes your reputation. The crew was not very attentive during good service. It was more of a routine / rush job rather than making sure that everybody was served and got what they needed ( had to ask for my dinner as my row was skipped and was never offered coffee before landing). The crew seemed rather young and inexperienced. The food was below average!!!! Especially the chicken patty before landing - seriously!!!!! Why not include a little bit of Finnish / Scandinavian cuisine to emphasize the Finnair brand!!! Entertainment was also below average. There needs to be more variety - especially for the TV selection, which had only 2 options!!! No music and no games?? Also, it would be nice to have access to a flight map. Too few accessible WCs"

Even though there were only 13 empty seats, they made an effort to find us a place with an empty seat between us."
ข้อเสีย: "We were stopped and grilled by AA personnel as if we were potential terrorists, even though we had TSA Pre-check clearly listed on our boarding cards. flight was 1 hr delayed boarding. Since the plane was a 747 and there were stronger than average headwinds, we had to stop in Bangot to refuel. Net result: 2 3/4 hr late arrival."

ข้อเสีย: "We were unable to find a row of seats to more comfortably facilitate traveling with a baby and a toddler as seats that should have had a cot or extra seating didn't have the cot and were sold out for an additional fee before we had the chance to. Discussing this with the staff at check0in and at the gate, made no difference as they had no knowledge of what was available on that particular flight. Every time I fly with American I'm reminded of why I don't like the airline and I will do my best to avoid them moving forward regardless of competitive ticket pricing."

ข้อดี: "I thought the BA/American/Finnair flight was excellent. The food was delicious both ways, much superior to United, American or Continental which I often fly. Excellent food, legroom, inflight entertainment (going out my row of seats - well, nobody could get any entertainment access) all was very good. Loved the newspaper choice when leaving Gatwick. I would definitely recommend again."

ข้อเสีย: "Our flight from Chicago to Paris was managed by Finnair, but flown through American Airlines. This was the second disappointing flight on American Airlines. Our first flight was repeatedly delayed over three hours and then canceled. Everyone had to take a new flight the next day on the same plane which was scheduled to be fixed that morning prior to departure. We boarded the plane 45 minutes late and then were informed that the part needed to fix the plan had just cleared customs. After another hour of waiting on the plane, we taxied to the runway and the returned to the gate because another part needed to be fixed on the plane. We waited another hour and a half on the plane before finally taking off. Upon our arrival at Chicago O'Hare, we waited on the tarmac for 30 minutes before the ground crew parked our plane. Which brings me to this flight from Chicago O'Hare to Charles de Gaulle in Paris. Our flight was delayed for maintenance repeatedly for 2 hours and then a new plane had to be brought over. By the time we boarded we were almost four hours behind schedule due to a logbook problem once we boarded the new plane. The plane itself was small - the size of a domestic flight - and VERY cramped. On both of the flights we had no TVs in the headrest. This is something that I have always had in economy class on international flights. It was by far the most uncomfortable flight I have ever been on. Because of the delay, we had to reschedule one of our two connecting flights. I was assured that our bags would still arrive at our final destination. When we finally reached our final destination, we found out that our bags had been lost along the way - most likely because of the flight being rescheduled."
