The plane is old. Even though I was flying business but they need to renew their short and medium range aircrafts
Inflight service was pleasant and efficient for business class. Enjoy the little touch of offering traditional Jordanian food and fresh Jordanian coffee made with cardimom as soon as passengers boarded. That said it is nowhere near the better airlines like Cathay.
Check in counters has no clear signs for Business class if you come from the other side. I checked in at economy counter, wasn't given invitation to lounge or any priority landing immigration pass. There were no communication at the lounge about the delay and can hear nothing of the announcements from the general announcements for the departure hall. No explanation was given once onboard or why aircraft was changed from 787 to Airbus. Boarding was the worse of all with no clear announcements and economy class was boarded before business and there is only one air bridge. Most staff were standing looking like they didn't know what was about to happen.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Communication generally helpful. Flight comfortable other than for the food and seat cushioning. (see below) They handled our delayed connection brilliantly, putting us in a hotel in Abu Dhabi for the day. Very restful and handled very well.

The toilet configuration is not good. It is cramped and the sink positioing makes It difficult to wash your teeth.
Gets you where you need to be
Broken entertainment, very uncomfortable seats, a feeling that economy is not that important to them despite the fact tickets are not exactly economy! Horrible dated beige colours everywhere and dated planes
Attentive crew (Busines cabin was near empty). Highlights the deficit caused by large occupancy A380 Business cabin. A380 business cabin has been economy classed to within an inch of its life, too few crew and those that are on duty disorganised and stressed. 777 crew ratio was 3 crew to 1 pax :)
Engine noise. Boarding in Dubai was a farce as called to gate even though aircraft was severely delayed inbound. Surly lounge staff didn’t help. Business Class gate desk ‘closed’ even though staffed as person was busy on the phone. Weird 2 - 3 - 2 layout means window and centre seats have to clamber over reclined neighbours. Seat width better than A380 and also less tomb like when reclined to nearly flat bed.
The food and service. Toilets are clean
Should watch on how many beer/champagne the steward serving to the customer as we had an old man who is super drunk sitting beside us and keep asking for more. Should also include toothbrush for our overnight flight as we reached Melbourne in the morning.
It was a smooth and pleasant journey.

Basically fine, good entertainment system
Boarded at the ass end of Abu Dhabi airport and kept in bus for 30 minutes in 38 degree heat (no a/c), you could tell the arabs did not like Indians. My suitcase did not arrive on my flight and i was made to wait at Bangalore airport for 5 hours for it (it came on the next flight). There were no coffee facilities or anything inside the baggage hall of bangalore airport, so it was very uncomfortable (alternative was having suitcase delivered to town I was staying in 5 days later.

I spent 15 minutes on the phone to Abu Dhabi at my own expense (international rates, no free phone number) 3 days prior to this flight to order a vegetarian meal. The phone consultant assured me she'd ordered it. However onboard the flight attendants said it had not been ordered and even accused me of not phoning up. I almost had to get out my skype phone records to prove I had tried to order the meal. One flight attendant said he would order it for the next leg of my flight, but when i got on that flight it showed he had not ordered it. I had tried to order this meal 5 times via the etihad website and it did not work. I also added my frequent flyer number which showed as going through, but it did not register (a fact i only found out after the flight). Also felt uncomfortable with the fact the safety video was only half translated into English. Arab speakers had a travel prayer said, English speakers did not get the prayer.
