We were three people with 4 bags each bag around 20 kg Except the fourth bag was 10 kg They saying each person he has to have one bag. And they said you have to pay around $ 300 for extra bag and that bag didn't exceed 10 kg despite when I went to Amman from Melbourne didn't tell that but they told on the way back despite I have the same bags, That's absolutely unfair.
Service not good
Inflight service was pleasant and efficient for business class. Enjoy the little touch of offering traditional Jordanian food and fresh Jordanian coffee made with cardimom as soon as passengers boarded. That said it is nowhere near the better airlines like Cathay.
Check in counters has no clear signs for Business class if you come from the other side. I checked in at economy counter, wasn't given invitation to lounge or any priority landing immigration pass. There were no communication at the lounge about the delay and can hear nothing of the announcements from the general announcements for the departure hall. No explanation was given once onboard or why aircraft was changed from 787 to Airbus. Boarding was the worse of all with no clear announcements and economy class was boarded before business and there is only one air bridge. Most staff were standing looking like they didn't know what was about to happen.
All five star excellent including perfect punctuality.
Only downside is the front scree entertainment. Films limited to unspeakable junk....but hey some might like junk....and classical music limited to Bach's fugues and cantatas which I personally adore and hugely enjoyed, but not much else. Pop and jazz junk. Advantage is that one has/had 12 hours to read a brilliant novel.

I spent 15 minutes on the phone to Abu Dhabi at my own expense (international rates, no free phone number) 3 days prior to this flight to order a vegetarian meal. The phone consultant assured me she'd ordered it. However onboard the flight attendants said it had not been ordered and even accused me of not phoning up. I almost had to get out my skype phone records to prove I had tried to order the meal. One flight attendant said he would order it for the next leg of my flight, but when i got on that flight it showed he had not ordered it. I had tried to order this meal 5 times via the etihad website and it did not work. I also added my frequent flyer number which showed as going through, but it did not register (a fact i only found out after the flight). Also felt uncomfortable with the fact the safety video was only half translated into English. Arab speakers had a travel prayer said, English speakers did not get the prayer.
Gets you where you need to be
Broken entertainment, very uncomfortable seats, a feeling that economy is not that important to them despite the fact tickets are not exactly economy! Horrible dated beige colours everywhere and dated planes
Unfortunately our flight from London to Abu Dhabi was delayed and we missed our connection through to Melbourne. However because of the way they hsndled this the delay turned out to be a blessing! Etihad put us up for the 12hour daytime delay in the magnificent Marriot Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The communication and transfer were handled very well. It was a painless process and we got to enjoy a lovely rest before being transferred back to the airport and flying home. Pretty much a faultless experience and one that would see me fly Etihad again without hesitation.
Whilst the food at the hotel was amazing, the same cannot be said for the plane! The food was very ordinary. The chicken pie was barely edible. In terms of seating, the seats are pretty standard long-haul fare. There is limited room but the issue is cushioning. They feel pretty hard and it was difficult to be comfortable.

Basically fine, good entertainment system
Boarded at the ass end of Abu Dhabi airport and kept in bus for 30 minutes in 38 degree heat (no a/c), you could tell the arabs did not like Indians. My suitcase did not arrive on my flight and i was made to wait at Bangalore airport for 5 hours for it (it came on the next flight). There were no coffee facilities or anything inside the baggage hall of bangalore airport, so it was very uncomfortable (alternative was having suitcase delivered to town I was staying in 5 days later.
The online check in system was down so we all had to line up to check in.
Crew helped with my bags.

Crew were extremely helpful and kind. Very responsible and polite.
LCD was not touch screen and was extremely difficult to work with . I couldn't scape from an accidental menu which I was dropped in games and missed whole flight to enjoy something in LCD .
Once staff were aware that my child was sick one staff member in particular regularly checked on the well being of my child.
Crew only helpful when pushed to help. My child was sick and the cabin crew tried to give me food. I said that my child had just vomited but there was no offer to help me clear it up they just continued serving food to other passengers. I had to search for someone to help me to clear up and then I felt as though I was an inconvenience. I then had to look for someone to bring food for myself and other child. My other child is 1yr and 11 months and I was told they were only allowed baby food not a child meal. Although there were a few spare seats on the plane I was squashed into a full row with a 3 yr old and one year old on my lap. I appreciate that there may not have been any bassinet seats left but would have been helpful not to be on a full row as a single adult travelling with two small children. No offers for assistance with bags.
